Since the 2016 introduction of BS 7671 Amendment 3, all new domestic consumer units must be manufactured from non-combustible materials (heavy steel) to contain potential electrical fires. Older plastic units with rewireable fuses also lack vital 30mA RCD shock protection and surge protection.
Yes, the electricity supply will be isolated for approximately 3 to 5 hours while the new board is mounted, cables routed, and circuit testing completed. We provide full notice in advance and restore power as quickly as possible.
Upon completion of any notifiable work, you receive an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) complete with a schedule of circuit test results, alongside a formal NAPIT Building Regulations Compliance Certificate mailed directly to your home.
